WE ARE AT THE FARTHEST TIP OF SOUTH EASTERN SICILY

The taste of Africa jumps out at you not just from the various architectural ruins but also more importantly from the vegetation: olive, carob and almond trees and vines abound. The climate as well recalls Africa with its red, ochre and yellow tones.

Here you find the city of Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa. A city located between the Ippari and Dirillo rivers that flow from the Hyblaean Mountains to the the Mediterranean Sea. The climate in our vineyards is more temperate than what you traditionally find in the hills of Ragusa. We are higher in altitude which gives us a milder climate than that of the Hyblaean Mountains, decidedly Mediterranean. This factor notably influenced the cultivation of specific crops in the Vittoria area and the plateau of Comiso. The area has particularly fertile soil and has been sought after by nearby peoples for centuries. Whoever conquered these lands throughout history then became enthralled with its riches and have all left traces of their civilizations and cultivation techniques behind. These ancient techniques are as old as the history of wine here.
