Pétrus produce in media 55 000 bottiglie all’anno.

Pétrus produces on average 4 500 wine crates per year, ie 54 000 bottles. the Bunches of grapes are hand-picked and are vinified in cement tanks. The wine spends 21 months in completely new oak barrels before being bottled.

The surface area is 11.4 ha with a density of 5500 feet / ha. It extends on the northeast of Libourne and to the western limit of Saint Emilion. The ground is made up of a high proportion of rich iron clay, much more than in the surrounding properties. The assembly is made of 95% Merlote and 5% Cabernet Franc, with vines of about 35 years of age.

Originally owned by the Arnaud family, the property was partially purchased by Loubat, Libournenel 1925 and in 1945 became the only owner. In order to compete with the great wines of Médoc, Mme Loubat went to work to exploit the potential of his land. In 1961, Mme Lacoste and M. Lignac, grandchildren of Loubat, inherited the property. A few years later, M. Lignac ceded his share to the shopkeeper Jean-Pierre Moueix, who made much to do yo gain international prestige (especially by making it know to the Kennedy family). Since 2001, the property belongs to his son Jean-François Moueix and is Christian Moueix, the other son, who cares for the management. The wine is processed by the Ologe Berrouet enologist.

It is recognized as the number one of the entire production area.
Like all the great ones, it never disappoints, year after year. Maximize the best quality of Merlot while remaining natural in the expression of the territory. It has a very intense color, and a range of extremely large and complex aromas, ranging from red fruits to exotic spices. Net the smell of truffle. Always elegant, it has an extremely long aging potential.
