This appellation in the Bordeaux region covers the area around the city of Bourg, twenty kilometers northwest of the city of Bordeaux. Originally it had to take of the new appeal of Cotes de Bordeaux created in 2009, but the appellation did not find effective application in French wine law. The soil where this wine is produced is a mixture of clay, sand and gravel in varying proportions. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec are the most used grapes.
It possesses the ruby red color, to the nose it strikes for the smells of ripe red fruit that slowly give way to spicy notes of pepper, leather and tobacco. The palate is velvety, rich and warm and supported by good acidity and astringency. Remarkable the final, long and harmonious.
