Alzero Quintarelli 2013
This renowned red Veneto is born in vineyards located in the municipality of Negar, in the magical terroir of Valpolicella. It is produced at 40% with Cabernet Franc grapes, 40% with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and 20% with Merlot grapes, harvested between the end of August and the beginning of September. After crushing, the grapes ferment in contact with the native yeasts for about 50 days. Subsequently the wine ages for 30 months in barriques and for another 30 months in oak barrels, before being bottled.
Historical company of Valpolicella based on Monte Paletta in Cerè, part of the East side of the Negrar valley.
All the vineyards enjoy West exposure and rest on calcareous-basaltic soils, the choices agronomics are not very invasive and take place with meticulous care, especially in the choice and in the selection of the bunches. Only indigenous yeasts and techniques are used in the cellar vinification.
In the '50s Giuseppe Quintarelli began his experience and his activity as a winemaker, alongside his father Silvio and increasing production due to the large demand for wines. In the '80s, then, comes the epoch of the boom of the cellar of Giuseppe Quintarelli: new ones are made choices regarding the cultivated varieties by inserting the Cabernet, Nebbiolo and Croatina grapes, and expanded again the vineyards park.
