Pure Pinot Noir, harvested in mid-September, fermentation in steel with 50% of whole grapes (including stalks). Contact with the skins until a late fermentation (end of September). Aging in wood 3/4 passage of different sizes for 18 months. Bottling spring 2016.

Pinot Noir forges itself on the ground where it grows, its wine will be the place where it roots its roots, the place where it rests its feet, the air it breathes.

The Voltumna boys have asked biodynamics a lot to make this vine cradle on the farm, to protect it, reassure it and
allowed us to face the world at ease, as if it were his own world.

The Voltumna project was born from the meeting of four friends who decided, in total respect for nature and its places, to make viticulture in a not particularly historic area for vine cultivation, the Florentine province of Mugello Valdisieve. In this area of 300 m.s.m the climate is mitigated by the Tuscan rugged appennine, the terrain is purely clayey, but especially the vine on which many have bet is the difficult pinot black besides the classic Sangiovese, in its motherland. Voltumna viticulture is practiced with a biodynamic method, where rhythms of nature impose the rhythms of labor, and not vice versa, with a bunch of clusters of grapes fermented with their own yeasts, not filtered, unclarified, sampled and tasted only to be drunk.
