Wine obtained from the vinification of Moniga and Carignano with grapes coming from a single parcel, that of Piscinacadeddu. It is the wine that most represents Gianfranco and his cellar, the only red to be repeated every year and that takes more and more identity.
Pikadè is a blend of Carignano and Monica. It has a light garnet color, gently perfuming of roses, spices and berries, but also of the sea. A brackish smell leads back to the island and its beauty. There are no odors arising from brett or uncontrolled volatiles, all without intervention. In the mouth it plays with acidic freshness and savoriness, velvety tannin and complete harmony. Flowery sensations also return in the mouth demonstrating its innate elegance.Pairings:Such lelegance van well handled in pairing. A vegetable couscous could be paired with a seared dairy goat assay.
Panevino
Gianfranco Manca is the last of the Sardinian vintners. Near to its cellar in the town of Nurri, about 80 km north of Cagliari, its numerous vineyards are planted, some on red soils, others on scists, others on soils composed of quartz and calcar. Its vines are impressive, some have over 100 years old, Gianfranco knows one by one. Its is an ancestral viticulture made of fatigue and risks, carried on with an absolute knowledge of agriculture and a conscience of territorial heritage. No addition of sulphites, no filtration, no intervention; And for this reason its wines are clean, very clean. Gianfranco is a vintner who tries to tell something different with each bottle of wine, always trying to make a unique artwork in every bottle. And everything varies according to nature !!!!
