Bas Armagnac Noir Chateau de Castex 2000
A rare Bas Armagnac born from the lands of the Chateau de Castex, built in 1570 on the ruins of an ancient fort. Everything contributes to defining the high quality of the product: the clay soil on a sweet and humid climate, an adequate exposure to the wind and the sun, the black oak wood, fundamental in the first phase of aging, which lasts 3-4 years . A second phase involves the use of exhausted wooden barrels, which no longer release tannin. A month after the harvest, the wine is distilled in the Armagnacchese alembic, over a wood fire, where the condensing vapors return to boiling and reach the coil for final condensation. The final distillate has 52% and to obtain a 400 liter piece you need about twenty hectoliters of wine. The Armagnacchese system does not require final dilution. The distillate immediately passes into wood for aging.
