The Pinot Nero Riserva by Stroblhof comes to be named reserve only after aging for 12 months in Allier barriques, 8 months in 30 hl oak barrels and then a year of bottles open to be put on the market. The vines are aged between 15 and 45 years of age.

Three Senses

The PInot Nero Riserva Strobhlof impresses with its balance. In the wine the varietal note is best interpreted, also highlighted by a pronounced balsamic. The elegant fruit of pinot noir is enhanced by its finesse, the notes of undergrowth continue. Then it penetrates into the mouth releasing its silkiness and ensuring the palate a lightness of great pinot. It should be included among the best three pinot noirs in Italy.

If you arrive at Appiano in San Michele everyone could help you to get directions to the historic Hotel Stroblhof, a building which dates back to 1660, immersed in the beautiful wine estate that Rosi and Andreas Nicolussi have been managing for over 20 years. Here the things are done seriously, with the high-Aesine method and the precision of a family dedicated to agriculture that has always played a key role in this estate. The vineyards are 500m above sea level, but they enjoy a high mountain microclimate, just below the Mendola massif (with tops up to 1400 mt.) Not far from Val di Non. The thermal excursions are the main prerogative for the Stroblhof wines which also enjoy continuous ventilation. About 50000 bottles are produced in the seal; The most elitist production is undoubtedly the one of pinot black and white pinot.
