Fricò 'takes its name from the famous mixture of vegetables which is processed especially in the spring and summer in the Marche kitchens. Also in this wine the grape counts Verdicchio, Malvasia, Muscat and Trebbiano which derive from a small vineyard managed by the Tomassetti brothers with plants of an average age of 50 years. Regenerated and managed immediately gave sensational fruits. The wine is left to macerate with a cap and then refined in cement.
Fricò is much more expressive than the wines of the Tomassetti Winery, having in it the strength of a soil composed mostly of alluvial sand. The old vines play a key role in giving expressiveness and aromatic part: just as the muscat gives aromaticity, the trebbiano and verdicchio give depth of matter. A great white from Ratatouille
Tomassetti
The Azienda Agricola Tomassetti has always produced a rare extra virgin olive oil of excellent quality. In 2015, the Tomassetti brothers acquired a true wine-growing heritage: three hectares of old vineyards that have been organically cultivated with Verdicchio, Trebbiano and Sangiovese for over thirty years.
From 2022, the number of hectares under vine increases from 3 to 4.5, and they add a plot in the Sant'Angelo area. They begin to diversify by acquiring plots with different characteristics, very heterogeneous places, where each one requires its own attention, care and agronomic choices, making diversification their company philosophy.
This is also the added value that allows them to manage and meet climate change, while also diversifying risks and result
Sustainable agronomic practices, the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts and spontaneous fermentation, are the basis of their idea of wine focused exclusively on making wines that respect and reflect the territory.
The company is located in the 'middle ground', between the renowned hills of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and the historical areas of Bianchello del Metauro, where the sea has a decisive influence.
Hence the decision to name the wines Marche I.G.T.
Matteo is an agronomist, dedicated to the vineyard and also to yeasts, with a doctorate on spontaneous fermentation in beer behind him. Andrea has a degree in economics and takes care of the commercial side after the vineyard. Both are obsessive about caring for the soil and the plant with the certainty that so much time spent on the soil allows complex material to be processed in the cellar.
A small company with a clear business vision that is launching itself as the Marche company of the future.
