Pelago Marche Rosso Umani Ronchi 2019
Pelago's first vintage dates back to 1994 and immediately obtained the award of recognition of the International Wine Challenge in London in 1997 as miglor rosso. The vineyard from which the Pelago is born is located in the bottom of the municipality of Osimo, on a hill about 150 meters above sea level, with exposure to the south-east.
The terrain, which dates back to the formations of the marine pleistocene, is very deep, frankly clayey, decidedly calcareous. The yield, contained by very short pruning and targeted thinning, can vary according to the seasons, from 50 to 60 quintals per hectare.
The destemmed and lightly crushed grapes are fermented at 27-29 ° C in steel fermenters, with submerged cap, for 14-15 days on indigenous yeasts. When malolactic fermentation takes place, the wine goes to the refining phase in 225 liter oak barrels. for a period of 14 months.
After bottling, Pelago refines further in a controlled temperature for about 12 months.
