Chianti Classico Valdellecorti 2021
For 95% Sangiovese, with a 5% of Canaiolo, from vineyards of 17-20 years, the classic Chianti Valdellecorti is left to ferment on natural yeasts for 3 weeks in stainless steel, with 30% of the mass that rests 4 months on the skins . The temperature is controlled to avoid aromatic drifts. It is refined in 2-3.000 liter Slavonian barrels for another 24 months, plus 3 months in bottle before being put on the market.
Valdellecorti
The Valdellecorti company was founded in 1974 by the courage to change that pushes Giorgio Bianchi to move from Milan to Radda, with the dream of a life in the countryside. With the complicity of his wife Eli, he restructured the abandoned farm, planted the vines and built a small cellar. Since 1999 the company is led by his son Roberto and his wife Lis, who over the years have been able to develop its potential, coming to a wine production of recognized excellence. There are 6 hectares of vineyards, of which 4 are owned, on marly-calcareous soils with a strong skeleton and very mineral. The east exposure is now an advantage, with abundant but early shade in the evening. The vineyards are from 4 to 40 years old, with the oldest vineyards that go to give life to the Chianti Classico Riserva, only in the best years. The grapes are all Sangiovese with a 5% of Canaiolo jealously guarded. Cultivation follows the rules of bio-agriculture and biodynamics, as the best approach in respect of nature and soil.
