Barbera D'Alba Lavai Ghiomo 2021
The vineyards grow with south exposure on marbled, clayey limestone soils, from Fusot, Dario, vignot and San Steu vineyards. The harvest strictly done by hands and using small crates (about only 10kg each crate) gives very hight quality with selected, unbroken and beautiful grapes. After a light fading of 24 hours of the grapes and after rasping and pressing it, start the fermantation with a controlled temperature of about 34°C. Maceration lasts 250 hours. Once ready, the new wine goes into stainless steel, where malolactic plays spontaneously. Refine in steel and oak wood than stay other 6 months in bottle.
Intense red violet with fruity aromas. Rich and powerful, it has a pleasant and very long after taste. Barbera Ghiomo match perfectly with red and wild meat, the perfect partener with blue or spicy cheese.
Ghiomo is a former convent of friars in the heart of the Roero, in Guarene, just 3 km from the famous Alba. Medium-to-small sizes make it possible to search for quality and character that is increasingly appreciated and sought nowadays. During the work in the cellar, the attention and the care for the details are great, in order to respect the cycle from grape to glass. Glass around which old and new friends will meet to share the passion that creates it. The company is in the hands of Anfossi Giuseppino who cures every stage of production, starting from the 5 vineyards: Croera, Fussot, Granda, Lavai, Rivet.
