Savagnin Noir is the name used in the Jura for Pinot Noir. This vineyard under management at the Buronfosse was planted in 1948. Very low yield.
Clear and bright red, slender in bouquet, with sensations very reminiscent of woods and earth. The wine is energetic, savory and subtle.
Buronfosse
After attending agronomy studies and after dealing with animals of all kinds, Peggy Lyonnese and her husband Jean Pascal Buronfosse of Saint Etienne arrived in the Rotalier areas. The First collaborations with Jean Francois Ganevat and the Labet Family are born. In 2002 they identified some vineyards and after fell in love with the place they decided decided to move to these "fairy" places made of woods and mountains. It begins a recovery path of old vineyards that leads the two of them to decide to downgrade the wines in order to preserve the ampelographic heritage of the region. This region is very rainy, that reduces the quantities already limited of Buronfosse (around 30Hl / ha).
They manage only 4.5 ha of vineyards in which 2 plots are owned and the rest rented . The vinification takes place with indigenous yeasts, the sulfurum is used only during the pressing process, then the must is put into fully filled tonneau (ouillé) where malolactic fermentation also takes place. Peggy's wines are from a large area of the region, but what is surprising is her desire to always improve, to understand and understand his own land.
