Champagne Clos du Mesnil Krug 2006
The Krug family has elaborated this great Cuvée to honor the small clos of their property that rises in the most famous town for the chardonnay. Clos du Mesnil is a plot of 1.85 ha surrounded by walls, with a very special microclimate that has distinguished it from the other vineyards in the Municipality of Mesnil sur Ogier, acquired by the krug family in 1971. The first Clos du Mesnil was harvested in 1979 , a vintage that marked a real revolution in champagne because no one then would have imagined producing a champagne with the grapes of a single vineyard. The bottle is supplied with the elegant Krug wooden case.
Krug is Krug. Not so many words to describe a unique and unmistakable style, made of complexity and pleasantness, maturity and freshness, toasting and fruit blended together for a simply noble taste. The maison was born with Joseph krug in 1843 with the idea of producing a champagne that was not only excellence, but also absolute pleasure all the years. Since then six generations of Krug have passed on the secrets of careful vinification in Argon pice, the selection of vin de reserve, preserved vineyard vineyards up to 15 years, of long maturations on yeasts. And even today, the chef de cave is an estone bearing the name of Eric Lebel, there is always a family member named Oliveir Krug to ensure sitemap consistency. Krug's annual production is around 500,000 bottles.
