The NACIONAL vineyard is a rare parcel owned by Quinta do Noval which has not been infected by phylloxera. There are vines over 60 years in the vineyard, but the average age is about 35 years. When they are no longer productive, they are replaced. This is the first feature that makes this legendary Porto unique and special. The monovigneto NACIONAL means for the Port the same as Château Petrus in Bordeaux and Romanee Conti in Burgundy. The second characteristic is its very low production yield which is between 15 and 20 hl / ha. There is no other Port that has more admirers. An exceptional vineyard, with an annual production of 2500-3500 bottles.
Three Senses
The Quinta do Noval Porto Nacional was defined by Michael Broadbent as "The Everest of the Vintage Port". It shows a very dark, very concentrated black color. It is a port of Extra dimensions with great length.
