Bas Armagnac V.S.O.P. 8 yo Clos Martin
Armagnac is a distillate of French wine, produced in the Gascogne region south of Bordeaux, with several white grape varieties consisting of: UGNI BLANC (our Trebbiano di Romagna) for 75%, BACO for 18%, COLOMBAR for 4%, FOLLE BLANCHE for 3%. Distilled in continuous stills, called "Armagnacais", the armagnac is aged in oak barrels of 500 liters, coming from the Monlezun forest in Gascony. It is considered the oldest spirits in France and perhaps also in Europe: the first traces date back around 1400, even before those of cognac (1549). Today, the distillate enjoys the AOC (French DOC) and the typical production areas are divided into three areas: BAS ARMAGNAC (considered the best to guarantee long aging), TENAREZE, HAUT ARMAGNAC
