Versante Nord Rosso Eduardo Torres Acosta 2021
The "Versante Nord" by Eduardo Torres Acosta is a volcanic red, magnetic and sanguineous of Etna, the result of the vinification of Nerello Mascalese almost entirely, together with a mixture of other local varieties of white and red berries. Son of the sandy and stony terroir of the volcano, he transfers the same minerality to the nose and mouth, supported by aromas of red pulp fruit and a thin, clean and dusty tannin. Wine made as it once was with artisanal methods.
Eduardo Torres Acosta
Eduardo Torres Acosta is originally from Tenerife. The father, an island postman, owned a small plot that allowed Eduardo to approach viticulture. Driven by curiosity, he decides to visit Sicily where he meets Arianna Occhipinti and for which he starts working in 2012, to then enter as a winemaker in Passopisciaro. Eduardo thanks to the call of some people of its potential, to find small plots of land for rent and to manage on its own. The search for the vines was manic to finally find small parts of old vines with the greatest possible quantity and plants partly as saplings. All the vineyards are popular on the north side of the volcano, between 600 and 800 meters. Eduardo's approach is the least interventionist possible for wines that are true mirrors of the Etna territory. The current production is around 12,000 total bottles.
