Upupa Rosso Weingut Abraham 2021
Upupa Rot Abraham comes from selected bunches of "Vernatsch" on the vines, until they are completely ripe. Finding the vineyard in a limit zone for the cultivation of this variety, it is important, for optimal results, to work with professionalism and intuition. The most important thing is the old vines and small bunches. The Hoopoe wine is not only an important wine for the company, but is also an expression of the concept of natural wine that the Abraham family means. The traditional local cut with Pinot Noir, without any additional ingredients, underlines the uniqueness and quality of this cuvée. The hoopoe, in the complexity and naturalness of its plumage, with its free nature, has been specially chosen to represent the particular qualities of this wine. The grapes are harvested and removed and placed in 2 hl fermentation barrels to ferment with their own yeasts. After a maceration on the skins for three weeks, the wine is softly pressed and transferred into barrels of 500 liters where it stays for 15 months for aging.
Weingut Abraham
Young farmers for tradition and passion for viticulture: this is the secret that surrounds the Weingut Abraham winery run by Martin and Marlies Abraham in the area of Appiano, in Trentino Alto Adige. It all started in 2011 when they decided to make their own grapes by focusing on responsible management of the vineyards and always taking into account the knowledge of their "fathers" that accompanies them, still, in this great adventure.
Recognizing, respecting and preserving the unique character of their vineyard, always producing characteristic and expressive wines, has always been their great goal. It is not just a job: it is a conception of life. Their vineyards come to life along the geological fracture that lies between the deep porphyry soils and the alluvial limestone soils of the Dolomites.
The uniqueness and strardinality of the territory are enclosed in their wines.
