Pinot Nero Gottardi 2019
Pinot Noir is produced in Mazzon di Egna in the lower Atesina. The pressed and destemmed grapes ferment in temperature-controlled steel vats for 8-10 days; twice fulling
day followed by a 12-month refinement in barriques and 8 months in large barrels.
In 1986 Bruno Gottardi, an Austrian citizen with Italian ancestors, bought the Fernheimhof farm located in the village of Mazzon in the Bassa Atesina, at the center of the best Pinot Noir vineyards in the region. Over the years, the nine hectares of vineyards dedicated mainly to Pinot Noir have been completely replanted, and in 1994 a winery was built
larger and more modern. In 1995 the Gottardi family bottles the first vintage of what soon became one of Italy's most acclaimed Pinot Noir.
