Niepoort's Late Bottled Vintage is perhaps the most important Premium Port in the range. The "Winemaker" Dirk van der Niepoort calls it the "Little Brother" of the Vintage Port, since the origins of the grape and the methods of vinification are identical.

The grapes of Porto Niepoort LBV 2019 come from selected lots of Cima Corgo vineyards, in the Douro region. The grapes were pressed in the traditional way with subsequent maturation of the Port in large and old oak vats in the loggias in Vila Nova de Gaia. In Niepoort the tradition is to bottle the LBV four years after the harvest, in order to reveal the fruity essence and the
freshness of the Port at the time of tasting. In order to enhance its qualities, we recommend decanting it before serving. Ideal with sweet and blue cheeses, dark chocolate desserts or a peppered steak

Niepoort has been an independent family business for over a century and a half; five generations have succeeded Niepoort since Franciscus Marius Niepoort founded the company in 1842. Almost always, two generations have worked side by side for many years, contributing to a successful transition. In this moment, you look enthusiastically at the sixth generation in the future.

Niepoort's mission is to maintain his position of "niche player", giving continuity to the production of Porto wines and Douro wines, combining centuries-old tradition with innovation.

The importance that is attributed to the need to interpret the varieties of the land, the climate and grapes have opened the way of biodynamics, a dating looking for a respect for "moods" of nature, listening to them to find the balance between biodiversity and less invasive intervention possible.

"Can we do better?" Maria Alice was once asked to Quinta de Baixo. "It always depends on the fact that Niepoort continues to realize dreams, from the creation of the right processes and from the maintaining the willingness to learn that characterizes us. But above all, the answer lies in the pleasure we have in what let's make."
