Cornas Clape 2020
Clape Cornas is the quintessence of the Syrah of the northern Cote du Rhone vinified according to tradition: the grapes of the ancient clone of the 'Petite Syrah', grown in the best lands of the village, is hand reassembled at the ideal ripeness, vinified separated by parcels with yeasts indigenous with branches, and aged for almost two years in old foudres. Expertly blended to obtain balance and complexity but maintaining its territorial identity.
Clape
The Clape family is an absolute symbol of the appellation. Not even the generational transition between Auguste and his son Pierre-Marie created problems or generated changes to the small winery in Cornas.
The 8 hectares of property include some prestigious lieux dits of the appellation, such as Reynard, La Còte or Las Mazards and the average age of the vines is very high, thanks to the acquisition of parcels with ancient trees.
In the vineyard the interventions are minimal and there is great attention to the ripeness of the grapes, in the cellar there are no secrets: vinification parcellari, spontaneous fermentations and use of the shoots, old foudres for long refinements (almost two years) are the basic ingredients for wines succulent and long-lived, able to fully tell the complexity and the granitic soul of Cornas.
To forget in the cellar or to enjoy young people to fully enjoy the vehemence and vigor.
