Robert Groffier Père et Fils
The winery is in Morey with a large part of the vineyards in Chambolle: about 8 hectares all dedicated to Pinot Noir, which give life to intense and refined reds, constantly increasing in prices. The Domaine has seen to take over Robert first his son Serge, then his nephew Nicolas, who has put in the field of improvements in recent years.
The search for concentration starts from very low grape yields, even more contained with the passage in the vineyard from the guyot to the cordon de royat; and the most challenging challenge consists in harmonizing such an exuberant and meaty fruit with velvety tannins, modulating everything in an elegant package, but away from demonstrative temptations. An ambitious bet that the Groffier want to win without compromise.
