Only Verdicchio grapes from the homonymous vineyard of the Municipality of San Paolo which, according to tradition, is one of the most suitable areas of the Castelli di Jesi. The vinification of Verdicchio Riserva San Paolo takes place with soft pressing and fermentation in steel matures for 18 months on its lees, ages for 6 months in bottle. The soil is of a clayey limestone type with a good sandy component resting on a tufaceous base which strongly characterizes the wine.
Bottle sourced directly from the Pievalta winery. Subtle , elegant nose that brings out that delicate note of anise, along with herbs, a distinctive sign of the São Paulo area. An almost smoky, bread-crust note reminds us that the vineyards of San Paolo are born on tufaceous soil. The palate is saline, persistent, long and refined. A wine for aging.
Pievalta
The wine company Pievalta was born from an investment made in 2002 by the will of Silvano Brescianini, owner of Franciacorta of Barone Pizzini. The estate is located in Maiolati Spontini, but its vineyards are distinct in the vineyards of the left bank, those of Moie di Maiolati Spontini and those of the right bank, the vineyard of San Paolo of Jesi in the Follonica district for a total of 26 hectares. Silvano's great insight was that he was entrusted with the project from Alessandro Fenino, who together with his wife Silvia laid the foundations for one of the most interesting realities of the Marche Region. When Alessandro arrives in the farm, he works with the wines in organic certification, but his goal was reached him from 2005, certifying the company in Biodynamic agriculture. The wines, following the path of Alexander, are a reference for varietal clarity and expressiveness. And as Alexander stands out for so much substance and no extremism.
