Pecorino Luciano Campo Vallerosa is the wine that Emanuele Dianetti dedicates to his father Luciano who, in order to free himself from sharecropping, bought in 1987 his "land" in the Vallerosa district, in Val Menocchia, in the province of Ascoli Piceno in Le Marche region. This wine - only 833 bottles - comes from a selection of the oldest part of the Pecorino vineyard, planted on a sandy and calcareous soil. We are on the west side of the Vallerosa district, a vineyard surrounded by a forest to the north and a ditch to the west, overlooking Mount Ascenzione and leaving behind the narrow Menocchia gorge that flows into the Adriatic Sea of Cupramarittima. Sea breezes during the day and cooler winds in the evening until they become cold at night characterize the freshness of this wine. The sandy, calcareous soil underlines its mineral content and flavour. A delicious embrace obtained by manual harvesting in the early morning hours of September 3, 2018; soft pressing, two months long fermentation at room temperature in new tonneau; racking in steel with its own lees where it rested for nine months before bottling and then another nine months in glass.

Three Senses
a wine with a welcoming and sinuous nose, broadly fruity at first, with that sweetness of fresh, yellow, juicy fruit, lemon gumdrops, orange peel and sage. Mouth gourmand even more than on the nose, soft and edgeless, redolent of fruit until in persistence and responsive in the sweet returns of the fruit and salty of the earth.

Dianetti

dianetti vineyard

The Dianetti Farm was born from the union of "mom" Giuliana's valuable experience in viticulture and son Emanuele's passion for the world of wine. The company is located in Carassai, a village in the south of the Marche region in the heart of the Piceno area, in a splendid natural oasis on a hill in the southern side of the Val Menocchia.

This narrow valley links the Sibillini Mountains to the Adriatic Sea and is crossed by warm sea breezes by day and chilly winds at night, producing an optimal microclimate for the vines which facilitate the creation of aromas of the grapes.

The earth is a balanced mixture of silt, sand and clay, enriched by limestone and made permeable by gravel. Here, from the historical Montepulciano and Pecorino vines, originate wines with distinctive character and personality.

The vineyards stretch along the south and south-west sides of the hill at a height of 150-200 meters. Everything from pruning to harvesting the grapes is done by hand, following the principles of sustainable agriculture and organic farming.

For Emanuele, wine soul is given us by the vineyard, it simply is made of grapes, characterised by the fruit that originates it.

Through artisanal work Dianetti can seize the richness that the land gives us, all while respecting the time that the nature imposes.

Because wine is a game of senses, a strong emotion and above all..a memory.
