Batard Montrachet Grand Cru Blain Gagnard 2017
Among the Grand Crus most appreciated by connoisseurs, there is certainly the Batard Montrachet. The vineyard owned by Blain Gagnard dates back to the years 1939, 1943 and a last plant resumed in 1986. More intense yellow color than the previous one and with greater aromatic complexity. On the palate it is rich, with an almost creamy texture, of impressive concentration. More austere than Criots due to its greater structure, it requires a few additional years of fostering to fully develop.
Blain Gagnard
Since 1980, the Domaine is headed by Jean-Marc Blain, who married Claudine, daughter of Jacques Gagnard. No doubt one of the most valued, classic and traditional producers of the Cote de Beaune.
Jean Marc today holds 8.70 ha of vineyards, grown on chardonnay and black pinot. All grapes are dirasped before fermentation of 12/14 days, with temperatures up to 35 ° C. Evelage of 11/12 months for whites, with batonnage; 15/17 months for the reds. Moderate use of new Alliers oak barrels (between 15% and 30%). All Domaine wines show fruit purity, freshness and consistency with native terroirs.
