Cotes du Jura Domaine Macle 2017
At Chateau Chalon we remain very faithful to tradition. Cotes du Jura is made with Chardonnay grapes for 80% and Savagnin for 20%. Very low yields, malolactic fermentation in cement, aging for about three years in barrique under "voile". Nothing has moved, nothing has been changed, everything has remained the same as the previous millennium.
Domaine Macle
The Domaine Macle was born in 1850. The choice and desire to plant vineyards on land where no one, at a certain time, wanted to venture indicates the determination and passion of this family of vignerons, who have become one with the vineyards of Château-Chalon . The vineyards are located on a territory with a unique matrix, where blue marls emerge, in a slope that reaches up to 50%. Laurent Macle with his wife and sister, today carry on the domaine that was brought to the top of viticulture by his father Jean. The tradition of elaborating wines with flor and making only a soft note perceptible, has allowed the Chateau Chalon in particular to become part of the wine excellences of France, to become an institutional wine. At Chateau Chalon you can breathe a medieval air and the Macle family's ability to slow down the pace of time makes this place symphonic.
