Ciro Biondi elaborates this wine from Contrada Ronzini, with the grapes of the Cisterna Fuori vineyard. We are located in Trecastagni, in the south-east of Etna. The lava soil at about 650 meters above sea level takes custody of the vineyards in Alberello and together with the microclimate with strong excurtions underlines all the finesse of the Volcano. Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio are harvested and fermented in stainless steel. A subsequent aging in 225 and 500 lt woods preserve the wine until its exit, without predomining over the liquid but leaving the nature of the place the ability to express itself in a glass.

Three Senses

Elegant garb of a Pinot Noir, pungent character of a Valtellina, Cisterna Fuori presents itself fearlessly and reinforces the conviction that the Etnean terroir is truly among Italy's chosen ones. Outstanding integrity, it marks the territory with subtle olfactory details, closed by a lively acidity even blocking for the fruit that comes out in the swallowing phase.

Ciro Biondi

The Biondi Winery takes care of 3 vineyards in 3 different Crus, all on the south-east slope of Mount Etna, 18 km from Catania, in the town of Trecastagni, since the year 1600. In this area there is a great day-night thermal excursion that reaches even 30 °, sandy volcanic soil draining and rich in minerals.

Founded at the end of the 19th century, it reached its peak in the early 900, thanks to Salvatore and Cirino Biondi. Exported since that time to Europe and to the United States, they win many awards with the wines produced together with another winemaker, founding the Biondi & Lanzafame. After the end of the postwar period, however, the company knew a moment of decline.

The firm restructuring began with Ciro and Stef Biondi in 1999, with a great deal of work in the vineyards and in the cellar, and the objective already achieved of bringing the Blond Company back to the big boom. Today, a new chapter is opened in the family history, thanks to the constant commitment to the quality that has brought their wines to be recognized all over the world with the fame of great wines.
