Orchis Mascula Henri Naudin-Ferrand 2019
Cuvee of Pinot Noir from high potential plots in the haute cote de beaune. The excellent quality of the harvest with a careful manual selection leads to the natural vinification of the pinot noir according to Claire: not destemmed and without added sulphites. Inerted with dry ice, after 5 days of intracellular fermentation, a first fulling activates the alcoholic fermentation which lasts for about 10 days. Delicate pressing and aging on the lees in barrels (5% new). Mild filtration of 50% of the volume before bottling, with a minimum addition of sulphites (tot.so2 for the 2018 vintage of only 38 mg / l).
Henri Naudin-Ferrand
The history of the Naudin-Ferrand domaine is long and although the first contacts with the world of wine have been traced since 1500, the first wine labeled as Naudin-Ferrand takes shape in 1964 from the hands of Henri Jr. Naudin and Liliane Ferrand. Henri had already been producing his wine on his father's estate since 1947, when he was just 17 years old. Of their 3 daughters, Claire is the most interested in the world of wine and after her studies and various experiences away from home, she returns to take over the company. Today Claire vinifies grapes from 22 hectares, some in the regional appellations and others in the prestigious plots of Aloxe, Ladoix, Echezeaux and Nuits-St-Georges. The various generations that have followed have always vinified looking for the best expression of the fruit, bringing novelty and dynamism.
