Schiste Blanc Domaine des Ardoisieres 2021
Schiste Blanc is a white wine composed of an assembly of Jacquere, Roussanne, Malvoisie, Mondeuse Blanche. The grapes in this case come from the Cevins slope, where shale and silt predominate in the soils, in a poor and shallow soil. The exposure of the vineyards faces south, south - east with a slope of the land that reaches up to 60%, with a splendid panorama just below the French Alps. The wine is aged in barrique for 12 months after the vinification took place with indigenous yeasts.
Domaine Des Ardoisieres
Supported by 10 enlightened members and wine lovers who support his project, Brice Omont works in biodynamic 13 hectares of vineyards. At the beginning of the new millennium, this passionate and stubborn winemaker took over a project already started by the Mayor of Cevins in 1997, aimed at recovering vineyards located in splendid lands, with slopes up to 60%, but poorly managed by the owners. To the original vineyards on the Cevins side, which rest on shale and sand soils, other plots have been added on the Saint Pierre de Soucy side on the left bank of the Isere river, with deeper and more clayey shale soils. A great work of grassing avoids erosion in an inaccessible and impracticable mountain context for the cultivation of the vine, as it is unique for its characteristics. In the cellar, the regularity and excellence in the transformation of the grapes have meant that the Domaine today is considered with unanimous plebiscite a Domaine Star, worthy of the greatest tables and of the comparison with the sacred monsters of the most prestigious regions.
