Domaine Giacometti's Patrimonio Rosso "Cru des Agriate" is a red wine made from 90% Nielluccio grapes (traceable to our Sangiovese) and 10% Sciaccarello grapes.

The vineyards of origin are Santo Pietro di Tenda, Batolaccio (13 years old), Piovanacce (44 years old) and Diceppo (21 years old). The chosen training system is cordon and the average yield per hectare is around 25 quintals. The soil is granitic. This particular conformation allows a particular mineral character to be found in the wines.

After manual harvesting, fermentation is spontaneous and maceration, which lasts about 15 days, is conducted in steel and with light daily pumping over.
Once malolactic fermentation is complete, aging takes place in steel containers for 13 months.
No filtrations or additions are carried out before bottling.

Three Senses
On the nose, the wine is characterized by hints of ripe fruit and spices. In the mouth, sapidity and minerality are well present aspects. The wine is ripe, complex, with a defined but harmonious tannic side.Perfect to be tasted immediately but also after a 4/5 year bottle aging.Try it paired with stews or baked meat.

Giacometti

Giacometti DomaineThe Giacometti family began their adventure in Corsica in 1987. Christian, the current owner, arrived with his father Laurent in the newly purchased Casta estate. They choose difficult terrain, on granite soils, difficult but capable of giving deep minerality. The approach is immediately aimed at the great respect of the terroir, with native vines and strictly organic conduction from the beginning. Because the bet is big, and the plants need to be healthy and strong in order to sink their roots and extract as much from the soil as possible. After years the choice proves successful. The wines are amazing, with character and authentic, like the family that gives them life.

Of the approximately 26 hectares of land, the most cultivated varieties are native varieties such as Nielluccio (a relative of the Italian Sangiovese), Sciaccarello and Vermentino.

The strictly biological techniques in the vineyard, with the use of only copper and sulfur, without synthetic products or weeding. Pruning is short to contain yields and concentrate minerality. Even in the cellar, the approach is a single guiding thread, from the manual harvest to indigenous fermentations, to the desired absence of forced filtration or clarification.
