Just 10 hectares are owned in the village of Verdigny. Since Stephan, Paul's nephew, took over the helm of the Domaine, the vineyards are being run according to organic criteria and as soon as the conversion phase is completed we will also find it on the label.

Domaine Paul Cherrier's Sancerre comes from plots with an average age of 10-60 years consisting mainly of clay and limestone.

Harvesting is by hand and the winemaking process takes place in wooden and steel containers. Aging on fine lees lasts about 11 months.

Three Senses
This is a Sancerre typical of the area, vinified in steel and with an amazing drinkability. Fresh, lively, particularly saline. The aromatic profile on the nose is mainly reminiscent of citrus and spices. Perfect to pair with shellfish and seafood but also with goat cheese and butter.

Domaine Paul Cherrier - Verdigny

Domaine Paul Cherrier

Domaine Paul Cherrier was born in the village of Verdigny, northwest of Sancerre, overlooking the left bank of the Loire from above.

Stéphane Cherrier, arrives in succession to his father but unlike him leads the estate by placing greater attention on vineyard care, choosing to operate with only organic or otherwise sustainable practices.

To date there are 11 hectares under vine and the varieties planted are Sauvignon and, in a small percentage, Pinot Noir. The soils on which the vineyards are planted are rich in limestone and produce extremely pure and mineral wines. The varying percentage of clay in points of the vineyard at different altitudes means that the wines obtained are either richer and fruitier or, rather, more linear and mineral.
