Champagne Tradition Marx-Coutelas & Fils
Marx-Coutelas' Tradition Brut is a blend of the three main Champagne vines, Pinot noir, Pinot meunier and Chardonnay assembled in equal parts. The grapes come from the family vineyards in the municipality of Venteuil, Vallée de La Marne. The dosage is 6g/l.
Marx-Coutelas et Fils - Venteuil
Bryan Marx is an exception in the municipality of Venteuil, on the southern slope of the Montagne de Reims, a few minutes west of Épernay.
Even though there are some pioneering Champagne domaines nearby grown respectfully in Venteuil itself, organic and biodynamic methods are still seen as heretical!
Bryan, a former Parisian graphic designer who never went to winemaking school, took over from his father in 2018 and transformed the family holdings into a certified organic domaine despite protests from his hometown neighbors. The estate, which can boast one of the oldest vineyards in Champagne, can count on vineyards facing south-east and cultivated on limestone subsoils, which give grapes with extraordinary character
Marx-Coutelas wines are low-dose champagnes, clean and composed mainly of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which we can drink all year round.
