Malvasia Chioma Integrale Vignai da Duline 2024
The wine is a 100% Malvasia Istriana obtained from 50-year-old vines. Harvesting is by hand; malolactic fermentation is carried out regularly; ageing for 7 months in large casks with light filtration.
The name of this wine derives from the concept conceived and implemented by Lorenzo and Federica in the early 2000s of not intervening in the vegetative part of the plant. Taking climate change into consideration, it was decided not to top the vines, in order to give them more shelter from the increasingly intense sun, with a lower sugar load. Furthermore, by not intervening on the leaf wall, the plant remains more in balance, also according to biodynamic farming thinking.
This concept has been taken up in several wine-growing areas of the world, taking the work of the Vignai da Duline as inspiration.

The Vignai Da Duline winery was founded in 1997, when Lorenzo Mocchiutti with his wife Federica Magrini began working old vineyards inherited from the family. They are located in the heart of the Colli Orientali, a land that has always been devoted to viticulture with the production of great wines. The young couple's goal is very clear from the beginning: to continue the family tradition with the same passion while bringing new knowledge. Fundamental is the preservation of the environment that surrounds the winery and the biodiversity that characterizes it.
Famous is their "chioma integrale" or the choice not to prune the top of the vines thus protecting them from unnecessary stress and maintaining a natural biological balance. "La Duline" and "Ronco Pitotti" their jewels, these two old vineyards with which Lorenzo and Federica year after year produce wines of very rare intensity, originality and character, obtained by vinification in wood for individual plots, without temperature control, with a sulfur dioxide contribution reduced to the essential.
