The Barbaresco DOCG Albesani Vigna Borgese embodies the austerity and elegance typical of Barbaresco from Neive. Refined and intense, yet never overwhelming—light on the palate, with well-defined tannins. An excellent choice for those looking to take their first steps into the rich world of Barbaresco. The estate covers 1.20 hectares, with a southwest exposure at around 210–240 meters above sea level. The soil is calcareous, clayey, and silty, and the vines range in age from 30 to 70 years. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel using a pied de cuve with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged in large oak casks, followed by bottle aging for a minimum of 6 months up to one year.

Three Senses
The wine presents a garnet red color. On the nose, it is harmonious and well-balanced, with notes of red fruits, herbal nuances, and a light spiciness. On the palate, it is full, elegant, with a noble tannic structure. An intense and significant wine.

Piero Busso - Neive

Winery Piero Busso

The company was founded in 1948 by Guido, father of Piero. As the seasons passed, the vision for wine became increasingly precise. Following Guido’s premature passing in the late 1970s, Piero Busso, deeply connected to this land, took over the winery and, in 1982, produced the first bottle of Barbaresco Albesani. It was an important step, defining the philosophy that would guide production from that moment on.

Respect for the land has always been a fundamental principle, going beyond the organic certification obtained: no herbicides or chemical products, sustainable treatments, and a green approach long before environmental awareness became widespread. There is no excessive intervention on the plants—trimming only in exceptional cases, minimal and targeted thinning. Only natural compounds are used. Low, very low environmental impact.

The company remains a family-run business: Piero, his wife Lucia, and their children Pierguido and Emanuela take care of everything—from vineyard work to harvest, from winemaking to sales. The estate, located in Neive, consists of 10 hectares of vineyards. It would be pointless to pay great attention to the vine’s fruit at every stage of its maturation, only to over-intervene in the winery. For this reason, the Busso family has chosen to make wine as it was done in the past, with minimal technology and a delicate touch. Each bottle will have its own voice. Because wine is alive, ever-changing, and different with every vintage. The goal is to preserve the small differences, allowing the wine to express notes that make it as authentic as possible.
