Mare is the wine from Bergianti made with the Lambrusco Marani variety. Gianluca likes to call it his “chestnut wine,” referring to his favorite food pairing and its intense character. It’s the everyday red wine, made for convivial moments. A true Emilian answer to Beaujolais Nouveau. The grapes are harvested by hand into 250 kg perforated bins, destemmed separately from the others, and vinified with semi-carbonic maceration in concrete tanks. The wine is then racked off using a soft press. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. It is aged for 6 months in stainless steel, followed by 12 months in bottle before release. No fining or filtration is done prior to bottling.

Three Senses
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby color with violet highlights, bright and lively. On the nose, it is fragrant, with an explosion of fresh red fruits, floral hints of violet and wild rose, and delicate spicy notes that recall its semi-carbonic maceration. On the palate, it is juicy, agile, and straightforward. The sip is tense and vibrant, with softened, delicate tannins. It is a genuine, sincere wine with irresistible drinkability. It carries the rustic yet elegant character of the most authentic Emilia.

Terre Vive - Gianluca Bergianti - Carpi

Bergianti cellar and a glass of Lambrusco

Gianluca Bergianti is a young winemaker, hungry for wine and thirsty for knowledge. In 2008, together with his wife Simona, he founded the Terrevive farm in the hamlet of Gargallo di Carpi, in the province of Modena. He has a clear vision and follows the principles of biodynamics without treating them as dogma. His main goal is the quality of the grapes he brings to the cellar. He judges his own wines and explores those of others. His work is driven by great enthusiasm, and his winery reflects both rationality and aesthetic taste. The wines are an expression of agricultural complexity; they are not the mere result of agronomic or oenological techniques, but the fruit of a living system that enhances their depth and diversity. Lambrusco can only be seen as the ideal companion for traditional Emilian cuisine.
