The language of cinema to tell stories about wines, winemakers and territories.

A whole world can be glimpsed from a glass of wine. Therefore, our idea is to use wine as a key to tell stories about people and territories, changes and resistance. The language we aspire to is cinematographic: for an aesthetics of the moving image. In the hall of the Ex Pescheria (Foro Annonario Senigallia) we will screen the docufilm ‘San Timorasso’

and, to follow, wine tasting stands to sample the wines of the Derthona doc denomination explained by the producers present and protagonists of the film.

THE FILM: SAN TIMORASSO

In a small village in the Colli Tortonesi, in the late 1980s, an ambitious and extravagant young winemaker vinifies ten quintals of an almost forgotten grape: Timorasso.

What seemed like just another oenological experiment ended up becoming a movement involving dozens of winemakers and brought the Colli Tortonesi to the attention of wine lovers all over the world.

How was this possible? How does one build a terroir?
San Timorasso retraces the story of this incredible adventure that starts from the depopulation of the 1970s, passes through the vicissitudes of an unusual group of winegrowers who team up despite their differences and ends up in the present day, when Timorasso will prove to be a significant symbol of the era of climate change.
