20 years after the first presentation of the Zalto Denk’Art glasses, Zalto introduces a new innovative glass. Following an intense development phase and valuable exchanges of ideas with oenologists, the new Denk’Art Balance glass is born. The world of wine is evolving, but the fundamental pillars of quality remain unchanged. This glass integrates, balances, and harmonizes without altering the true underlying characteristics such as terroir, fruit, salinity, acidity, or tannic structure. It reduces the prominence and dominance of individual aromatic elements like tannins or phenols, creating a harmonious balance. The bowl’s width, which lies between that of a Bordeaux and a Burgundy glass, provides the wine with the space it needs to express itself, while the sharply conical side walls—more so than in the Burgundy glass—concentrate the aromas over a shorter distance, integrating and combining them into a harmonious whole. Along with the wider opening and more direct distance, the glass perfectly balances the wine’s characteristic aromas and flavor components.

Zalto Denk Art
"As in music, where violins handmade by expert Cremonese masters are considered by many to be unrivalled despite today's modern violin-making possibilities, Zalto glasses are fascinating instruments for drinking pleasure."
In northern Lower Austria, the tradition of mouth-blown crystal goes back to the 14th century. The Zalto family, of Venetian origin, settled in this region seven generations ago and began producing mouth-blown glasses of the highest quality.
The turning point came when they met the parson Hans Denk, an authoritative wine expert well known in the German-speaking world. Together with him, the glassworks began to develop the design for a newly developed goblet. The combination of Zalto's technical expertise and the sensitivity of Pastor Denk gave rise to an instrument capable of enhancing the aroma and taste of wine like no other: a goblet capable of disappearing to leave room for dialogue between wine and taster.
The curves of the products in the Denk'Art line respect the measurements corresponding to the angle of inclination of the earth's axis (24° 48° 72°). Already the ancient Romans built containers for food and drink following this subtle intuition, having noticed that the contents kept longer and that tastes and aromas were enhanced.
