Nosiola is the only native white grape variety of Trentino, cultivated since the time of the Council of Trent. Its name is thought to derive from the word "hazelnut" – either for the golden hue of the ripe berries or for the wine’s delicate aroma reminiscent of wild hazelnuts.

This wine comes from Cesconi’s highest vineyards, located at around 500 meters above sea level, where the vines – trained using the traditional pergola system and averaging over 35 years of age – benefit from a cool, breezy climate and significant temperature variation.

Vinification balances tradition and finesse: fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in acacia wood barrels – a neutral wood that preserves Nosiola’s subtle bouquet without overpowering it. The wine then rests for 9 months on its fine lees, gaining complexity and texture.

Three Senses
Fresh, savory, and elegant, Cesconi Nosiola is an organic white wine that perfectly expresses Trentino’s identity. It pairs beautifully with light dishes, lake fish, soft cheeses, or as a refined aperitif with a sense of place.

Winery Cesconi

In the heart of Trentino, on the hills of Pressano, the Cesconi family has been cultivating vineyards and making wine since 1751 — combining artisanal care, deep respect for the land, and a forward-looking vision.

Today, the winery tends to around 10 hectares of vineyards spread between the Pressano hills (300–500 meters above sea level) and the Valle dei Laghi. These two distinct areas, with their unique microclimates and soils, give rise to wines of remarkable character and territorial expression.

On the ancient Triassic-era soils of Pressano — among the oldest in Italy — varieties such as Nosiola, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Lagrein are cultivated with sustainable practices, producing wines known for their finesse and elegance.

In the Valle dei Laghi, two main vineyards complete the picture: Prabi, with its sandy, alluvial-origin soils, is home to Manzoni Bianco; while Pivier, richer in clay and silt, is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, yielding reds with depth and structure.

Cesconi represents a perfect harmony between tradition and innovation — crafting wines that are consistent, environmentally conscious, and uncompromising in quality.
