Petricore, a name well known in the world of perfumery, is the olfactory sensation perceived when rain hits long-dry earth.

This very concept inspired the name of the wine for a new project. University friends now colleagues Fabio (Marche), Andrea (from Etna), and Giulio (from Umbria), decided to take over a vineyard in San Marcello, entirely planted with Verdicchio, to produce their first wine. The farming approach is regenerative: the soil is nourished with worm humus and frequent green manures. In the vineyard, they rely solely on biodynamic preparations, herbal teas, and propolis to minimize the use of copper and sulfur.

With the support of Tenuta San Marcello, the team set out to give Verdicchio a new identity—vinifying in oak tonneaux, seeking the unconventional, and aiming for unusual nuances. Out of necessity, the barrels used were new: specifically, medium-toast Allier oak. The winemaking process begins with a gentle pressing of whole grape clusters, with no clarification or racking of the must. After fermentation, malolactic conversion occurred spontaneously. Following a few rackings and bottling, only small amounts of sulfur dioxide were added. No fining or filtration was performed.

This is a wine born of friendship, yet it dares to challenge the great whites at the table.

Three Senses
it immediately strikes us with its intense yellow color and greenish reflections. But it’s when we bring it to the nose that it truly captivates us: at first, it’s almost shy, with a delicately floral aroma. Swirling it in the glass, it bursts open with citrus hints of mandarin, notes of green tea, and nuances reminiscent of the pastry world. On the palate, the sip is fully consistent with the varietal, medium-bodied, alternating between acidity and savoriness.

Tenuta San Marcello

Tenuta San Marcello

Tenuta San Marcello is a young reality of Marche Region, already appreciated for the quality of its wines. Born as a farm and dedicated to the production of local wines to ensure a 360 ° experience and to bring to the table the territory of San Marcello. Located in the area of two of the most characteristic and valuable D.O.C., the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and the Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore, it carries out a work of valorization whose fruits are already visible in the glass.

In the vineyard the work is done in full respect of the territory, eco-sustainability and local traditions, with the help of qualified professionals. The cuttings were planted in 2008 on 4 hectares adjacent to the estate. The soil is clayey limestone, about 220m above sea level and not far from the beach of Senigallia. Sometimes the sea breeze can be felt up in the vineyard with its slight salinity. Two vines, Lacrima and Verdicchio, to give life to 4 labels vinified in purity. No herbicides and chemical fertilizers, with the aim of integrated biodynamics.

The grapes are harvested by hand and pressed within one hour of harvesting, to minimize the sulfur used. In the cellar then the must is processed in the absence of oxygen to enhance the varietal aromas. The temperature is controlled with a modern geothermal system powered by 100% renewable sources.
