Champagne Les Ports Zero Dosage Jerome Blin
Les Ports is a parcel Champagne by Jerome Blin from the terroir of Vincelles. The vineyard is a complantation of vineyards including Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier. The choice to vinify the individual plots is made according to the very unique characteristics of the vineyard. In this case, the grapes, with an average age of 50 years, rest on silty soil on the banks of the Marne. There are two Meunier plots and they are specifically called 'La Champagne' and 'La Truie'. Vinification takes place 50% in 228-litre wooden barrels and the other 50% in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation, with filtration only before bottling, without clarification and with indigenous yeasts.
Jerome Blin
The Blin family has been installed in champagne since the XXVII century. Jerome Blin, fourth generation, has always lived in the middle of the bubbles. His father was working in Champagne H. Blin in the mid-twentieth century. The vineyards in Vincelles, in the middle of the La Vallée de La Marne, were resumed in 2010 by Jerome, who decided to work on the 6 hectares of properties at Biodinamica. Strongly convinced of the principles to be applied in agriculture, it shows a real revolution in the small town of Vincelles. Of the approximately 3000 bottles produced per year, most of it comes from a base of Pinot Meunier. All parcels are vinified separately. Jerome has a very delicate hand that characterizes all of her champagne with an oxidation veil in the glass. The dosage is also low, as the grapes coming into the cellar are so sweet.
