Robert Denogent
The Domaine Robert Denogent is located in Fuisse, at the entrance of Burgundy, in the Maconnais. In 1988 Jean Jaques Robert took over the 5 hectares of vineyard until then managed by his father and conferred to local cooperatives. Harvest after harvest Jean Jacques extracts from the small plots in his possession the essence of the terroir. It was crucial to meet with Marcel Lapierre and Kermith Lynch to expand his belief in defending the terroir. To support him in the work in the vineyard and in the cellar, first comes Nicolas's older son, excellent drinker and then Antoine. The Robert Family manages small parcels for a total of 8.5 hectares, with vineyards that are up to 70 years old, on mixed soils of granite, shale, silt, clay and gravel. Research is continuing to use as little treatment as possible and to lead to a kind of agriculture more than organic. The aging of the wines takes place in barriques of second and third passage for 15/18 months. The wines are bottled after two years of refinement, just like classic burgundy practices. The Robert's hand came over the Maconnais, in fact their wines come close to the most famous denominations of Mersault or Puligny Montrachet. Complexity, intensity, and authenticity are the common denominators of Domaine Robert Denogent wines.
