Giorgio Clai
There are no good or bad vintages. If you work naturally they are just different. They depend on seasonal climatic factors that determine the absolute value of the bottled wine, the expression of vintage and terroir. With these ideas in mind, they come from Krasica, 40km from the border between Italy and Croatia, the products of a company that passionately takes care of about 8 hectares of vines and 3 hectares of olive trees all in biologic and biodynamic regime. Following the established local wine traditions, the natural approach to the vineyard, and using just organic and natural fertilizers, the firm leads to the cellar the entire terroir of the place. The approach is all about quality and not quantity. Low plants heigh and high plant density contribute to concentrate the taste in the few harvested acines. International varieties are never vinified in purity, but they are accompanied with native vines to express themselves to the utmost potential. Fermentations on the skins are strictly spontaneous and are followed by a more o less polonged rest on the lees in the wooden barrels. After about a year the wines are bottled without sterile filtration.
