Meroi
The Meroi company is located on the Buttrio hills in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The family business, which takes its name from its father, is now led with great zeal by Paolo Meroi. The grandfather Domenico had already acquired extensive experience in viticulture in previous years. During his daily work in the vineyard and in the cellar, Paolo can count on his friend Enzo Pontoni. He regularly shares his oenological knowledge with the owner of the Miani company.
Although his good wines undoubtedly bear the teacher's handwriting, Paolo Meroi has created a personal style for his wines which represents his character. In his vineyards, cultivated by the young winemaker Mirko Degan, Paolo attaches great importance to the late harvest of very ripe grapes and deliberately maintains extremely low yields per vine. This gives the wines their great structure and complexity. Spontaneous fermentation in oak barrels and all wines complete the malolactic fermentation. He regularly shared his oenological knowledge with his friend Enzo of the Miani company. The exciting, harmonious and always fragrant vines of the Meroi winery are perceived by connoisseurs as highly authentic.
