Bonavita

Bonavita

Bonavita is located in the village of Faro Superiore on the Peloritani Mountains, on that land tongue between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ionian Sea, which is reflected in the Strait of Messina, a place rich in history and legends. Homer, Virgil and Ovid speak about these places and describe them as fertile and healthy, from the mild climate and from the open and harmonious landscape. The village of Faro Superiore was formerly called Casale del Faro by the Greek people who founded it and here devoted itself to the cultivation of vineyards, so much to make it become the major city in trade and export of wine in many regions of France.

Under the name Bonavita are hidden Emanuela, Carmelo, Giovanni and Francesco Scarfone small vintners in Faro Superiore. The vineyards rise on steep terraces at 250 m s.l.m., surrounded by a oak and chestnuts forest, to form a natural amphitheater overlooking the Straits of Messina. Here, only native vines are cultivated such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera, with an age ranging from 6 to 60 years and over.

One philosophy: to preserve and respect the environment in which you live, taking into account the context in which the vineyards develop and thus putting every single plant in a position to give the best of itself to allow wines to be true expression of the vineyards. territory.
