Stefan Vetter
Stefan Vetter's company is a young winery born in 2010 in Germany, thanks to an announcement in a local newspaper of a 1958 Sylvaner vineyard for sale. The vineyard of just over 2 hectares climbs the steep slopes of Gambach, Wiesenfeld and Castell, in the Franconia region, not as visible as the Moselle or Reinghau but still among the historic German wine areas. Its production is very limited and the vineyards are cultivated exclusively by hand, without the use of herbicides. About 70% of the production is centered on the Sylvaner vine, which is supposed to have its historical roots in this area.
In the cellar a soft pressing is preferred and the fermentations take place spontaneously. No clarification or filtration is done and steel and wooden containers are used for the refinement. Despite being a young company, it has already demonstrated an excellent production quality.
